10 September 2017 – Stephen Jackson and “All Things Bright and Beautiful”

Taking the popular hymn, “All Things Bright and Beautiful” as his inspiration, Stephen Jackson challenged to consider the role of science in spirituality. If we say that God is the creator of all things bright and beautiful, does that mean God must also be the creator of all things dull and hideous? With readings from Charles Darwin’s correspondence included, Stephen’s service asked us how we can reconcile our much greater knowledge of the workings of the world than our ancestors, with the same hunger for a spiritual life we share with them.
